Emmanuel means God is with us (Matthew 1:23).
Emmanuel refers especially to Jesus Christ as both God's own Son and the Savior sent to be God with us and also one of us.
This is  what we are all about!

"[The church] is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints."
                                                       ~Tim Keller
"When I look at the church, I see a hospital full of people in various stages of dealing with the disease of sin...The church is not a theological classroom.  It is a conversion, confession, repentance, reconciliation, forgiveness, and sanctification center, where flawed people place their trust in Christ, gather to know and love Him better, and learn to love others as He has designed.  The church is messy and inefficient, but it is God's wonderful mess - the place where He radically transforms hearts and lives."
                                                      ~Paul David Tripp
       (Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands, P & R Publishing, 2002)
"The church is not a gymnasium in which the righteous bulk up their spiritual biceps and then gawk admiringly into the mirror of the Law to see how well they are progressing. Nor is the church’s worship an aerobics session for the pneumatically fit to recharge their batteries for another week of victorious living. The church is a sanatorium [hospital] for the sick unto death with sin, in which the medicine of God’s Word is applied in the liturgy-the Law, which diagnosis and kills the deep, inherited disease of Adam; and the Gospel, which brings new life in Jesus Christ by the healing balm of his blood."
                                                       ~William Cwirla

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away, behold all things are become new."
       ~2 Corinthians 5:17
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me."
                 ~Galatians 2:20
